For the past 2 years, I have participated in directing 2 sketch performance for our MSA annual event - Merdeka Night. Really enjoying gathering with more than 30 friends, filming all those short clips, rehearsing for the performance and together we showed our cares and loves towards the country.
So fast 1 year has passed and now I am considered alumni for MSA already. After the last production for CNY this year, all of us have been very busy with our careers and accommodation matters. There is no time and opportunity for us to produce another production anymore. Let's just keep this as memories and I also hope that for those who were involved in these 2 years will remember it forever. =)
For the Merdeka this year, it's just another working day for me. Racism continues, lies and those funny jokes which will only happen in our country spread all over the world. I am still waiting for miracle, though most of the people already accepted that the chances are diminishing. Hopefully by the time I go back, everything will be fine, just like how it used to be 53 years ago.
Happy Birthday Malaysia.
Not to forget, our 相识纪念日 on the 29th Aug 2009. =)

Hello, it's not a scam !
It's my honor to be featured in the Alumni Giving after working in the phone room for 2 years.
This is the first time (probably the only time) I was featured in newsletter, this year together we achieved more than 70% of the participation rate, which is almost doubled the result of last year.
Friends told me that they saw me on the newsletter, some even introduced to their parents that I am their friend. Callers in the phone room paste the article on the notice board in phone room and start calling me the unsung hero.
Thanks for everyone in the phone room, the supervisors, the callers, the manager and the special "pretty young boss". Really miss those time that we spent together in phone room, calling up the alumnus and final year students, trying to get more pledges to help more students ...

Officially A Graduate
The last day for me being a student...
The first time I feel that I am a more important person, because parents came all the way to Singapore, sister took afternoon flight on that day and she took a day off from her part time to attend my convocation.
During my 4 years of studies, I was absent most of the time. So actually I don't have much feeling on this day. I know less than half of the people in my course and I believe less than quarter of them actually know about me. End up the whole day I sticked with my parents, took photos with them and whoever that I met.
Purposely gave Jocelyn a call once I reach there because I requested her to pin up the "igave" pin for me.
Sis arrived just on time before I went into the convocation hall.
The whole convocation last for 2 hours and finally I got my transcript !!
Also received a special gift from her..with my name on it !!

My Convocation
Today, 30/07/2010 is my convocation.

Today, I myself ended my school life after spending 4 years
in Singapore NTU, completing my bachelor degree in Civil Engineering.
Today, my parents completed their responsibilities by
supporting me financially, mentally for these 16 years of education.
Today, my sister took a flight in the afternoon
and able to reach on time for my big day.
Today, she looked busier than me, accompanied me all the way, standby and helped me to take photos and getting me all the things that I wanted.
Thank you to my family and the special her !! I LOVE YOU ALL !!
That's the end of my convocation and looking forward to my pay day !!
More photos coming up, off to sleep now and will be back to work tomorrow.

No More Exam in My Life
4th May 2010 is the last day that I sit for exam, another step closer to my graduation before my FYP presentation. Hopefully there will be no exam papers in my life anymore because I dislike being graded by other people and I disagree the education system that emphasize a lot on results and left us no space for thinking and personal development. Feel relief after the collection of my last exam paper and did not go anywhere for celebration as well. Instead, I had lunch with her and started to plan for the things to be done in the future.
Collected our house key, signed up for cable TV, broadband and will be shifting in this coming Saturday. Time to say goodbye to Hall 8 after staying here for 4 years. Like this place because of its strategic location, the friendly cleaners and the caring aunties that always give me foods and drinks. The most important is that I met all of them here - The Tigers, the 41 Buddies.
Throughout these 4 years, I don't know what have I learnt from the university (perhaps don't know how to explain what have I learnt), which I believe most of the people will agree with me. Being absent for most of the lectures, I bet no professor will remember me including my FYP prof whom I only met him for less than 5 times. Somehow I will miss the times during primary/secondary school life when teachers still remember me when I go back.
Going into the society soon, have more commitment and responsibilities coming. There will be no excuse for being childish anymore and I need to be wise in financial planning and time management. But I know that there will always be someone who will support me, guide me whenever I have problem.
Thanks Dad, Mom

When we grow up...
We never play with the birthday cake anymore...

We never torture the birthday boy anymore...
Birthday cake may not be necessary during celebration...
Luckily I still have a small one this year =)

Happy Chinese New Year 2010 !!
When people is not expecting anything from me,
I am always expecting something from myself.
Once again, I volunteered myself to produce something for the upcoming MSA event, which is the Chinese New Year celebration dinner.
In addition, as we called ourselves 'The Tigers" when all of us came to NTU 4 years ago, I think that we should produce something during the Year of Tiger.
Since most of the seniors are busy with their IA and FYPs, I managed to find some seniors from Year 2 and finally combined with Boon Ming's Supper Gang to produce this video. This time we are doing Chinese New Year MV and I have been editing this video for the past two weeks as my last production before I left NTU.
For those who doesn't know me, they won't believe that I am actually taking Civil Engineering course. And if you ask me why am I doing so many things for MSA, I would say that this is also a way of showing appreciation towards MSA. Without MSA, I might be just a foreign student in NTU without any friends. Moreover, 6 of us won't meet each other, syok sendiri and called ourselves "The Tigers".
After producing the first sketch 2 years ago, I really enjoy the feeling of directing sketch as well as being videographer and editor, especially when all of them had fun during the performance and satisfied with the outcome.
Thanks to all the seniors who were involved in this production, I hope you all enjoyed that afternoon and happy with the response that you all received during that event.

For me, I didn't look at the respond from the audience. I sat on the first row, clapping, singing myself and felt happy that my production was being shown on a projector to everyone. Perhaps I am giving myself too much pressure by hoping that I can produce something even better than what I have done during Merdeka Night.
But no matter how, still very grateful that my friends are so supportive and helped out throughout the whole process. Thanks !!
Hope all of you will like it ! Happy Chinese New Year ! 恭喜发财, 虎年行大运 !

New Year Gift
Finally received the lucky draw prize from the Taiwan Tourism Bureau, the prize that I won by voting for Bak Kut Teh in "The Best Trip in the World Competition".

But too bad it's too pinky to me and so I decided to give it to her...

Another new year gift that I got for myself is....
Hurt my waist and leg during IHG this year, but it's worth for all this.
At least we are qualified to quarter final, and hardly got people take photos when I am playing badminton....

My 2009
In 2009...
1)Had my internship for 22weeks, preparing myself to face the society soon. Learn a lot of related knowledge and received my first angpau in Singapore Dollar during Chinese New Year.

2)Visited my form teacher in primary school after graduating 10 years. Missed the old days in primary school...

3)Being inspired by Boon Ming during internship period, I start to blog more often and installed Nuffnang, hoping to earn some side income. Apparently, I failed....earned a total of $38.36 by 28th Dec 2009, can't even cash out.

4)Felt and fear the side effect of gambling, where I can lost few hundreds in one night at the casino when I can't even earn that amount back through my part time job.

5)Earn more and spend more in Singapore without worrying much about the currency exchange rate. Instead of multiplying 2.5x for everything that I purchased in Singapore to convert it into Ringgit Malaysia, I divided 2.5x the cost of the items that I found in Malaysia to convert it into Singapore Dollar.
6)Took a plane since 1997 and travelled to Hong Kong with 2 of my uni mates for 7 days. It's a wonderful place and I wish to revisit the place again.

8)Being fined 3 times on the same day for speeding during my trip to Ipoh. Total cost of RM900. (No screen shot taken because it's being paid online using my dad's account)
9)During one of the sleepless nights, inspiration and ideas cross over my mind when I am planning on my last performance in NTU. Acted as Encik Najis in the skid "Jutawan Kampung", based on the story of "Slumdog Millionaire"
10)Did more short clips related to family and friendship, spreading the love messages to all the friends in MSA. Improved a lot on video editting, though just using Windows Movie Maker. Since then, friends will ask me for advice and ideas when they need help. (Kinda happy and proud of it)
11)Won myself a Nike bag worth SG$50, the grand prize in a lucky draw event for the 1st time in my life.

11)Good things happen when you least expect them. Met someone special during Merdeka Night and here we are now...

12)Went to Melaka at least once a year as usual, but this time with my parents and her...

12)After 22 years, that's the first time I think that I am fat when I weigh more than 60kg. My father told me that I will look exactly like him 30 years later.

2009 is a good year to me. Thanks to everyone who helped me through out this year, I appreciate it and wish you all have a good year ahead.

During exam period...
When exam is around the corner, students start to feel kiasu.
Many "NEW" faces can be seen during the last lecture of each subject,
"HARDWORKING" students start to make reservation in study rooms and treat it like they own the cubical.

While everyone is busy with their lecture notes and tutorials, I am busy watching this...

In my opinion, I still think that the anime back in my time are much more better than the anime nowadays (e.g. Naruto and Bleach).
Few weeks ago, I also managed to find the emulator of SNES (Super Nintendo Entertainment System) and started to play the Slam Dunk game that I did not manage to finish it when I was in Primary 5.

Not sure how many of you have actually played this before, or some of you don't even know that there is video game for Slam Dunk. It's not similar to those basketball games like NBA because the characters are very cute ...

But once you make a movement, the screen will zoom in...

I managed to finish the Story Mode within few days by defeating Ryonan High School at the final stage ! It's really a nice game and I strongly recommend this to all the Slam Dunk fans out there.
Have you ever reminisce about your childhood ? Well I really miss those days when you go school without feeling any pressure, playing around in class room during recess times, watch TV and play video games once you are back home...
Is it because I am afraid of stepping into the working society?
Or perhaps I am really getting older...
